PPE Quick Guide for Schools

In planning to re-open schools to more pupils from 1st June, schools will be considering what personal protective equipment they need. As a reminder, guidance is available to schools on the use of PPE on the Services for Schools pages linked here. In general terms, the advice to school staff is that they do not need to wear PPE except in some specific circumstances for example where they are required to provide intimate personal care. A ‘PPE in Schools Quick Guide’ has been developed and is linked here.

The Service for Schools pages also include guidance on how to order PPE linked here. Orders will only be accepted through the agreed process, schools are strongly advised to follow this process to avoid unnecessary delays. To help the ordering process run as smoothly as possible, please send all orders to CS.BusinessContinuity@derbyshire.gov.uk, and the Children’s Services business continuity team will help with triaging any orders, contact you with any queries if required and speed up the process. Please note that at this point the PPE Hub are only in a position to supply three days’ worth of PPE, due to stocks and demand.
