We would like to invite your school to apply to be part of Derbyshire's Attachment Aware Schools programme, as we are about to launch our fifth year.

"The AAS programme provides innovative training coupled with an excellent support network, which drives and enables you to provide inspiring, informative practice, tailored specifically for your school, families and children” (Heath Primary School)

Each year we invite schools to complete a short application form to outline their interest in embarking on a yearlong partnership programme with the Virtual School which provides a great opportunity for schools to develop their attachment awareness through training, action research and becoming part of the Attachment Aware School Network.

We are delighted to offer this whole school development programme free to successfully selected schools and will also offer them a bursary to support their action research. We now have 63 Attachment Aware Schools in Derbyshire and we will expand this further through the fifth year of the programme which is open to any Derbyshire school, including secondary, primary, junior, infant, special and support centres.

Please see the attached documents which provide further details about the AAS programme, the commitments involved and the application and selection process.

“We found the Attachment Awareness Programme to be one of the best pieces of CPD we had ever completed. The training and support offered through the Virtual School allowed us to gain new knowledge and skills as well as giving us the time and space to reflect on current practice in order to implement changes. Highly recommended!” (Chapel-en-Frith High School)
