Designated teachers for children in care information including network meetings.
Our focus is sharing good practice or ideas and exploring issues that have arisen at previous sessions together. These network meetings are well attended and informative and always lead to rich discussions about our roles and responsibilities working with children and young people.
These meetings are for all designated teachers, you do not need to have a child in care in your school currently for the meetings to be useful. We cover theory and practice which will be relevant to all of the vulnerable learners in your school.
Unfortunately, there are many children living turbulent lives outside of school and we aim to help each other make their life in school a successful, safe and happy one.
Summer term 2018 network meetings
Our third and final Designated Teacher network meeting for this academic year will be focussing on ‘Understanding, Building and Sustaining Resilience’. Exploring this topical concept and its relevance to the children you look after and your role as a Designated Teacher.
These meetings are for all Designated Teachers and you do not need to have a Child in Care in your school currently for the meetings to attend or be useful as the role is a statutory position and it’s good for you to be ‘ready’.
As always this network is a forum for you to share ideas and good practice from your schools. The meetings are always well attended and lead to rich discussions about our roles and responsibilities working with children and young people. Chatsworth House (Bakewell, DE45 1PP) have generously offered to host these days in their brand new learning space a beautifully converted old potting shed! Further details will be sent out nearer the time to those who secure one of the limited places.
This is an all day event and you can select to attend on either June 14 or 15 2018, you need only to book on to one of these days as both days cover the same content.
