Derbyshire Libraries service is encouraging children to sign up to this year's science themed Gadgeteers Summer Reading Challenge, with lots of books to explore and a host of exciting events - all for free!

Date(s)
9 July - 3 September 2022
Description

Aimed at children aged 4 to 11, the challenge launches on 9 July in all Derbyshire libraries, and runs until 3 September. Children must borrow and read any 6 books of their choice over the summer and they will receive stickers, a fold out poster and a medal and certificate on completion.

Libraries are also hosting over 70 events, from electro-dough, coding, junk modelling and technical challenges, as well as welcoming the National Space Centre, Lab Rascals, CSI Training and Dr Matt for a variety of special STEM events, from dry ice workshop to forensics sessions. This year is not to be missed and it is all for free. Please share this video at school assemblies to inspire children to join in the fun!

A full list of events can be found on the Derbyshire County Council website and Eventbrite.
