Derbyshire Libraries are looking for Youth Groups or young people aged 13 to 24 to take part in an exciting project from The Reading Agency, Reading Sparks, which aims to engage children and families with science through reading.

The idea is for the young people to create digital content for younger children linked to the theme of the environment.

Through 6 sessions (this can be flexible depending on the group), we aim to share a range of books and discuss ideas for creating digital content that would appeal to younger children. There will be training and support available to help them bring their ideas to life and these could include kahoot quizzes, digital jigsaws, slideshows, videos, escape rooms.

We are also hoping to host digital days with STEM ambassadors and groups running hands on sessions for young people to come along and try.

More information is available on the Reading Agency website.

If your school or youth group is interested please get in touch. Derbyshire Libraries are particularly interested in targeting young people in areas of high deprivation or those that access alternative means of education.
