The Future Shape Education group is a collective of leaders from the education sector responding to the recent public health emergency.

We recognise that there will be opportunities for new ways of working, new collaborations and therefore business as usual will be different. We need to support our young people, colleagues and communities to navigate through the forthcoming challenges and we will do this by planning the future shape of the county’s education response to achieve the different business as usual’. To achieve this goal, we will create a yearlong group known as ‘Future Shape: Education’.

The group is structured into specific workstreams, each focussing on specific areas that feedback has shown are the most pressing issues. These issues frequently change in response to the changing landscape, and as a result the group needs to be responsive, fluid and versatile. These workstreams will therefore change throughout the time of the Future Shape group.

The current workstreams:

  • Human Resources
  • Attendance
  • Virtual / Blended Learning
  • Emotional Health
  • Early Years
  • Catch Up
  • Communications
  • Public Health

We will use this area to host any guidance, tools or resources produced by the workstreams. Any information or guidance documents produced by this group have not been quality assured by Derbyshire County Council and are intended as a vehicle to promote collaboration between Derbyshire schools and early years settings.
