The Education Data Hub offers a full range of services designed to support schools in fulfilling their responsibilities under data protection legislation, including:
- UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
- Data Protection Act 2018
- Freedom of Information Act 2000/ Environmental Information Regulations 2004
- Data Use and Access Bill 2025
Their support packages are flexible and tailored to meet the different needs of schools, from a full external Data Protection Officer (DPO) service, to lighter advisory support packages.
Their service offering includes:
- Data Protection Officer (DPO) - a full DPO service to advise schools and staff on UK GDPR obligations, monitor compliance, provide policy templates and training, assist with Subject Access Requests and Privacy Impact Assessments, and liaise with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
- Helpline Service - providing advice, guidance, and signposting for data protection queries.
- Compliance Management - a compliance audit and ongoing compliance monitoring service
- Compliance Audit and Report Only
- Training Services - including web-based learning and face-to-face workshops for all staff and staff with data protection responsibilities
- Records Retention Support - advice, guidance, and signposting to help schools manage records in line with legal and best practice requirements.
