A network of 87 Teaching School Hubs has been announced by Department for Education (DfE).
The teaching school hubs will be funded for 3 years (subject to confirmation) and will be accessible to every school in the country from September 2021 onwards. Derbyshire will be covered by two teaching school hubs:
- Derby, South Derbyshire and Erewash teaching school hub will be led by George Spencer Teaching School, the Spencer Academies Trust, their lead school Chetwynd and a range of strategic partners. The key contact is Tammy Elward, Director of the George Spencer Teaching School Alliance
- Potentia Teaching School Hub will cover Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak and North-East Derbyshire. The key contact is Alan Kealy, Director of Matrix TSA Swanwick School and Sports College
The teaching school hubs will work in collaboration with many partners across the region to support initial teacher training; early career training and support; and leadership training and development through the new suite of National Professional Qualifications.
