Schools provide an important setting for promoting health which can easily be integrated into general health promotion, school curriculum and activities.

Health promoting messages can be reinforced throughout the most influential stages of children’s lives, enabling them to develop lifelong sustainable attitudes, behaviours and skills. The health and wellbeing of school staff, families and community members can also be enhanced by programmes based in schools.

Please see the NHS Derbyshire Community Health Services website for information and resources on oral health promotion, including a resource loan library, digital curriculum resources and links to toolkits supporting the promotion of oral health in schools.
