Online staff Prevent awareness training for education settings

Free online Prevent workshops

Online Prevent awareness sessions (delivered via Microsoft Teams) will continue to be available for staff in 2025. The sessions cover all the important issues that staff need to know for Prevent, such as:

  • what is Prevent?
  • what is radicalisation?
  • case study examples
  • common signs of vulnerability and radicalisation
  • current threat level
  • main risks from terrorism and extremism.

The training is suitable for all education sector organisations but is particularly useful for smaller organisations who may struggle to provide a more detailed Prevent input to smaller staff cohorts.

You can use this training for new staff in all education-based organisations, or for those staff who need a more detailed insight or update.

Sessions will be managed through a new DfE corporate Eventbrite account, and attendees will be notified of MS Teams links via Eventbrite-generated reminders and emails. It is therefore important that staff check their junk / spam folders too, in case these notifications are directed there.

As before, certificates of attendance and a user survey will be sent out after the session to all attendees. Staff must register correctly using their correct names and business email addresses to ensure they are included in this.
