Employees can sign up to our salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme − and earn a tax-free bike.

Why not take advantage of our Cycle to Work scheme. You make a monthly payment direct from your salary and in return save money on bikes and equipment costing up to £1,000. Plus there's the added benefit of keeping fit.

You can choose your bike from any local shop or dealer who is taking part in the scheme. Repayments are taken directly from your salary each month so you save on income tax and national insurance.

You need to be over 18 and have an employment contract for a minimum of a year. You must also agree that 50% of the bike’s use will be for commuting or work-related journeys.

Secure cycle parking, clothing lockers and shower and changing rooms are offered at some work bases and schools and we continue to look at rolling out facilities at other sites.

We'll soon to be offering our free County Rider cycle training for adults who live, work or study in Derbyshire. If you haven't been on a bike for a while and would like specific training or information about a route to work then contact us, email: sustainable.travel@derbyshire.gov.uk or tel: 01629 538156.
