Derbyshire County Council is excited to share an important opportunity for you to have your say about Alternative Provision (AP) in Derbyshire.

The government describes AP as education arranged for children and young people who, due to exclusion, illness, or other reasons, cannot access suitable education in mainstream settings. This can include support provided in school or at alternative locations when full-time mainstream education becomes challenging.

Derbyshire County Council is currently reviewing its AP offer to understand better how all children and young people, regardless of their circumstances, have equal access to high-quality education, employment, and training. As part of this, views are being gathered from a wide range of stakeholders, including schools.

Your voice is vital in shaping the future of AP in our county. Please take a few moments to complete the survey and share your experiences and thoughts. Your feedback will help inform improvements in the market and ensure the support available truly meets the needs of our children and young people.

Survey deadline: 26 September 2025
