A limited number of Derbyshire schools can access free support from Energy Sparks to help them to reduce their electricity and gas usage, and reduce carbon emissions. Most schools can expect to achieve energy savings of around 10% in their first year.

Energy Sparks is a charity that is currently working with approximately 800 schools across the UK.  They have over 100 energy and sustainability education activities and accompanying resources for pupils, as well as over 60 adult-led actions with supporting guidance on saving energy. Participating schools are supported with online training and energy management mentoring.

Places will be allocated  on a first come, first served basis. If these places go, there may be more funded places in the near future. If you would like your school to join Energy Sparks, your headteacher or school business manager should complete the enrolment form to confirm your interest.

Schools can also access their energy data and add meter readings via the Derbyshire SystemsLink platform. Please contact Liz Pasteur, email: liz.pasteur2@derbyshire.gov.uk if you would like an account.
