Several Derbyshire schools and DCC sites have had free water audits from the Severn Trent Green Recovery Project, funded by Ofwat over the past few months.
Your school could have one too - an audit visit will take around one hour, depending on the size of the site. A report will be written and shared with the school. If improvement measures have been suggested in the report, arrangements can be made with Aqualogic to install these at no cost during a second visit.
The site manager at one High Peak school has had a visit and an audit report for his school, which included a few recommendations. He said, “I'd very much recommend this to other schools, especially as I understand that Severn Trent / Aqualogic will carry out remedial works free of charge.”
Installed savings measures at other council sites have included:
- replacing taps with push taps to reduce volume used and avoid leaking taps
- flow reducers to reduce flow to recommended level
- urinal control units to reduce flushing to when there is occupancy
- cistern displacement devices to reduce toilet flush volumes
